Let us pray
Our Gracious Father,
We acknowledge the risks of temptation we encounter every day as we come before you today. We are aware that the enemy works to mislead and divert us from your path. Yet we also understand that we can withstand temptation and avoid giving in with your support.
Lord, we ask for the knowledge and discernment to be able to identify and avoid the traps of temptation. We ask You for the ability to withstand temptation and the fortitude to leave places where we might stray.
Moreover, we pray for individuals who may have given in to temptation and are having a hard time returning to you. May they draw strength and comfort from your love and forgiveness, and may they go to you for direction and assistance.
We beg you, Lord, to keep us safe from the perils of temptation and to lead us constantly in your ways. Help us to live holy and upright lives that respect you and exalt the name of Jesus.
We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior.
Amen.
