Now the boy Samuel ministered to the LORD before Eli. And the word of the LORD was rare in those days; there was no widespread revelation.

The anchor verse of 1 Samuel 3:1 says he ministered to the Lord which means he served God in a sacred and dedicated manner.
See, Samuel’s ministry involved various duties that were related to the worship and service of the LORD in the Tabernacle. So obviously, he assisted and supported Eli, the high priest, in carrying out the religious rituals and responsibilities prescribed by God. This included tasks such as tending to sacred objects, offering sacrifices, and participating in the rituals of worship.

Reflection on Divine Ministration
Beloved of God, as I reflect on the idea of “Divine Ministration,” I am reminded of the experiences of many believers I personally know, and the uniqueness of their journeys. As a Christian, I also find deep fulfillment and purpose in engaging in divine ministration, where I offer my heart and abilities to serve the Lord and His people.
See, there is a distinctive voice within me, and I believe in every person called to divine ministration, a conviction that resonates when one thinks about the privileges and responsibilities of divine ministration. It is a voice that urges us to step out in faith, embrace the calling God has placed upon our lives, and serve Him with passion and absolute dedication.
The thing is, creativity is surely a powerful tool in this ministration, for God has bestowed upon each of us profoundly unique talents, gifts, and perspectives. Samuel had it too. It’s through such creative expressions that we can effectively minister to others, in whatever form God directs us for hearts and minds to be reached with the love of Christ.
Divine ministration, as I see it, is not merely about fulfilling religious obligations or performing tasks such as going to church, being baptized, etc., but it’s an intimate and transformative experience where we encounter the living God, partnering with Him to bring His love, healing, and hope to a broken world.
It’s in the midst of divine ministration that our own lives are transformed, shaped, and refocused as we witness the faithfulness and power of God at work.
Today, I merely want to emphasize the significance of divine ministration in the lives of the believer.
It’s not reserved for a select few, like Pastors, Apostles, Ordained Ministers, etc., but a clarion call that extends to all who follow Christ.
Beloved, we’re called to be God’s hands and feet, sharing His love, grace, and truth with those around us. Through our acts of kindness, service, and intentional ministry, we have the privilege of being vessels of God’s love and instruments of His divine ministration.
