Anchor verse of the day
You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.
Psalm 91:13 (NKJV)
Our anchor verse of Psalm 91:13 is a promise of God’s protection for those who trust in Him. The imagery of the lion and the serpent represents danger and harm, and the promise is that God will give us victory over those things.
What it means is that those who take refuge in God will be able to overcome even the most dangerous and deadly threats. This is a reminder of the power of God’s protection and the security that comes with trusting in Him.
The main theme in Psalm 91:13
- The assurance of God’s protection and deliverance for those who trust in Him: It is a message of faith and encouragement to remind believers that God is always with them, watching over them, and fighting their battles.
Similar Bible verse to Psalm 91:13
And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
Romans 16:20 (NKJV)
This verse speaks of God’s power to defeat the enemy and bring us victory. Just as Psalm 91:13 assures us that we will trample upon the lion and serpent, Romans 16:20 reminds us that Satan will ultimately be crushed under our feet.
This victory is not something we achieve on our own, but rather it is a result of God’s power and grace working in us. See, as believers, we can trust in God’s promise of victory and rely on His strength to overcome any obstacle or enemy we face.
Instances the believer can trample upon the lion and serpent
Psalm 91:13 speaks metaphorically about overcoming the enemy. Here are instances where believers can experience victory over spiritual adversaries:
- Temptation: When we face temptation, the enemy may try to lure us into sin. However, by relying on God’s strength and following His ways, we can resist the enemy and overcome the temptation.
- Fear: Fear is one of the enemy’s tactics to paralyze believers and prevent us from taking action. But when we trust in God’s protection and promises, we can trample upon fear and move forward in faith.
- Trials and tribulations: Life is full of challenges, and the enemy may try to use them to discourage us and make us lose hope. However, by keeping our focus on God’s faithfulness and promises, we can overcome these trials and come out stronger on the other side.
- Spiritual warfare: The Bible warns us that we are in a spiritual battle against powers and principalities in high places. However, by putting on the full armor of God and wielding the sword of the Spirit (God’s word), we can trample upon the enemy and emerge victorious.
Reflection on You’re an Overcomer
As believers, we are not promised a life free of troubles, but we are promised victory over them.
Psalm 91:13 reminds us that we have the power to trample upon the lion and serpent, which are symbols of the troubles and trials that come our way. This verse is a declaration of the power and authority we have in Christ.
The world may try to bring us down, but we are overcomers through Him who loved us. We can face any challenge, any hardship, any obstacle with the confidence that comes from knowing that we are not alone. We have a Savior who has already won the battle for us. We can rest in the assurance that we are more than conquerors through Him.
Beloved, let us take hold of this truth and let it be our anchor in the storms of life. Let us declare it over our lives and let it give us the courage to face each day with boldness and faith. We are overcomers, not by our own strength, but by the power of the Holy Spirit within us.
